function. Physiotherapy is also the title of the service that registered physiotherapists deliver in
helping patients achieve these goal

Will physiotherapy help me get better?

We pride ourselves on helping patients who have been unable to find a solution elsewhere. We
welcome the opportunity to properly assess your condition to determine the best way to help you get better.

Does insurance cover it?

If you have extended health benefits or have been injured as a result of an automobile accident,
then you will likely have your treatment paid for. If you are using extended health benefits, check
the details of your coverage in your Extended Health Manual, or speak with your Human Resources
department. For your convenience, we can now bill directly to most insurance companies. We now
also accept patients through the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) and the Veteran’s Affairs
Health Program.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No referral is necessary to participate in physiotherapy treatment. However, patients are advised to
check the details of their extended health benefits as some plans may require a physician’s referral
in order to get treatment costs reimbursed.

How long does a treatment session take and how many appointments do I need?

New physiotherapy patients have 1-hour assessments and follow up treatments are 30-minutes. All
appointment times are one-on-one with your physiotherapist.
The number of sessions you’ll need depends on your condition. All of our patients are individually
evaluated. Your initial visit gives your therapist the information they need to assess your problem,
determine a prognosis, and create a treatment plan. Your therapist will discuss this with you at your
initial assessment.

What happens at my appointment?

At your initial visit, your physiotherapist will conduct an interview and a thorough physical
evaluation. This will be directly followed by treatment so you can immediately benefit from your
experience.
Treatment itself can vary depending on the condition that you are presenting with. This may involve education on your injury and how to optimize recovery, manual therapy (hands on treatment), modalities (e.g. ultrasound treatment, acupuncture), and an exercise program.

What do I need to bring with me? How should I dress?

We ask our patients to wear clothing appropriate to the type and area of injury. Shorts and a t-shirt or tank top is usually sufficient.
Bring any test reports or other medical documentation that is relevant to your condition to your appointment. Please also bring your extended health benefits card as we may be able to directly bill your insurer for your visit.
If your condition is related to a work injury or an auto accident, we require your case manager’s name and contact information, your claim number, and extended health benefits information.
If you feel your problem is related to any accessories, you may wish to bring those with you. Our physiotherapists sometimes find it useful to analyze specific footwear, backpacks/bags, photos of your work station, etc…
We ask that you please arrive 15 minutes early to complete your intake forms.

Do I need to have imaging done before my appointment?

No. Most patients do not require any imaging. We will perform a full examination of your problem
and only recommend imaging if it is required. If you already have imaging, bring the results with you
to your first appointment.

How quickly can I be seen for my first appointment?

We have a large staff of physiotherapists and we can accommodate most patients within 48 hours.

Do you accept patients under WCB or Auto Accident Insurance?

Yes! We treat patients who have claims through workplace insurance and through auto insurance.
Please remember to bring your claim number, insurance adjuster’s contact info, and all other relevant information to your initial appointment.

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractors are health professionals that provide hands-on therapies that influence the neuro- Musculo-skeletal system.  Through their hands on approach, chiropractors assess, diagnose, and treat conditions related to the spine, pelvis, extremity joints and nerve pathways.
Chiropractors can work with any age group. If you suffer from back pain, neck pain, headache, jaw pain, whiplash, sprains, strains, repetitive strain injury, work, and sports injury and/or arthritis you may benefit from chiropractic care.  If you are unsure if Chiropractic treatment is right for you, feel free to contact us by phone or email and we would be glad to help you make an informed decision.

Can I see Physio, Chiropractor or Massage, even if I do not have any pain?

We believe that injury prevention begins with having a strong core, good alignment, full joint mobility and appropriate muscle balance and control related to your tasks and activities. Also, if you are planning on starting a new sport or activity, it is recommended that you train your body so that it is conditioned for the new demands.
Our Physiotherapists and Chiropractors can assess you and determine the areas that need attention
by developing suitable exercise program for you. Out RMTs may work with you to release muscles and soft tissues that tend to get tight with your daily postures or work demands. If you are unsure of which health professional may be best suited for your needs, feel free to contact us by phone or email so we can help you make an informed decision.

What are payment options?

If you do not have Extended health Benefits, we accept VISA, MasterCard, Interact Debit and cash payments. Payment is due in full at the end of each session. You will be given a receipt with your service provider’s information and registration number. This receipt can be used to claim your benefits if you have health insurance that covers your treatment. You will have to send your receipt and claim form to your insurance provider so that you can be reimbursed. For your convenience, we also offer direct billing to all major insurance companies.
If you do not have health insurance coverage, we recommend that you save your receipt for income tax purposes.
