Meet Kent Tsang - Registered Psychologist
Kent Tsang is a PsyD-level Registered Psychologist who is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese with expertise working with young adults, adults and elderly people with various mental health issues.
Kent is culturally sensitive with solid experience in working with clients who identify as Asian, other racial, or ethnic backgrounds. Before he came to Calgary, Canada, in his early years he worked as an Occupational Therapist and then as a Clinical Psychologist in various mental health settings in Hong Kong. Kent’s experience has spanned from seeing clients who are struggling with mood and anxiety problems, substance misuse problems, to other more complicated mental health problems such as, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, psychosis, schizophrenia, and more. He also supports clients who are impacted by car accidents or workers compensation cases for various traumatic and psychological injury services.
Kent believes in developing a meaningful therapeutic relationship to maximize one’s potential for positive change and growth. He utilizes a bio-psycho-social and humanistic approach throughout his work, with the application of evidence-based treatments such as; CBT, MBCT, ACT, and EFT. He also has training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, psychological first aid, and applied suicide intervention skills training (ASIST).
